I Loved it!
I too waited tooooo long to buy this mattress! Do your self a favor and buy yours TODAY! You'll be so glad when you feel how comfortable they are! There are no Cons in this review because I really did LOVE it.

After 11 years on a twin memory foam dream collection mattress with no boxspring or frame, I decided it was time to upgrade to a queen. I went to the military base because they have no tax, the staff at the MCX not only sold me a queen size bed that did not exist, (not in stock) they also sold me a twin frame. About a 2 weeks later I finally get my money back. Lesson is never shop for a bed where they have candy isles and pencils. I went across the street to the Sleep Train store, testing all of the beds I fell in love with the prodigy. I bought the floor model as it was almost half off. The manager at the store ended up giving us another 20 or 30% and we payed a total of 1200 for a frame, box spring and a queen prodigy. 25$ shipping, bed was here and set up in 2 days. The 2 delivery guys were on time, took out my old bed and set up my matress in 15 minutes. Loving the bed so far . The cooling gel is awesome. Defiantly recommend this bed for people that enjoy beds that are a little bit on the soft side but also want support. Will be back in a year with update.
I was against this purchase at first, My girlfriend picked out the bed. WE bought the Prodigy floor model for $1400, and I can honestly say its the best bed I have ever slept on! IT makes a world a difference! I love it.
I bought a King iComfort mattress in April 2015. It came with a 30 day guarantee. It wasn't until about 6 months that the bed already had sunk in on both sides where we sleep. We are unable to flip the mattress but we did try to turn it just so our backs would quit hurting from sleeping in the holes. I am very disappointed in this mattress which I paid $2500 for. Unfortunately, I am stuck with it for a while. I purchased a serta gel pad for $150 in hopes that it would help but it hasn't.
After having this for just about 1 yr my husband and i have not had a good comfortable nights sleep after about 2 months of owning. If it wasnt such an expensive purchase we would get rid of it. We are currently looking at other options to purchase a new bed. I would not reccomend this to anyone.
My husband and I replaced our sagging tempurpedic mattress after 5 years (our first mattress was replaced after 3 years and we sold the replacement mattress after 2 years) with a prodigy. We loved it initially but it now sags terribly. My husband and I rotated the mattress and switch sides hoping that will make a difference. It hasn't. So we will be contacting Serta and see what they say. I am very disheartened with memory foam. If you are OK with averaging about $1000/year for a bed, by all means buy memory foam. Otherwise, buy a more modest priced mattress and replace as needed. Financially you will be ahead of the game!
My husband and I are both bigger people, I don't know if it makes a difference, but we wake up feeling like we are sleeping on a heating pad. At first I thought maybe it was just me but then he started complaining also. There is nothing cool about this mattress. We have only had it a few weeks and I am calling retailer today to see what options we have. We spent way to much money to wake up on the coldest night in Indiana throwing off covers, then be cold on top! So if you are bigger size, over 200 #'s or are hot natured, Don't do it!
When we first bought this bed it was great. However, now that we have used it for 2 years, in our opinion, it seems to be loosing it firmness. If we had to do it all over again, we would not, price to high and the difference we see is no different than spring beds with a form mattress cover on top.
We bought the prodigy with adjustable frame. LOVE the adjustable frame, not the mattress. After having it for 6 weeks we called the store to switch it out as my husband and I both were waking up with severe lower back pain. We switched it for the Genius. WELL, we have had it for 2 nights, and they are the worst two nights of sleep of both our lives. Disappointed we paid this much for a mattress and we are stuck with it. Maybe memory foam is just not for us. Missing my old wore out traditional mattress
Easily the most uncomfortable mattress I have purchased. 3 nights in and I'm dealing with quite a bit of back and side pain and not sleeping through the night. I'm not sure how I'll manage to sleep on this long enough to "break it in". Mattress feels drastically different than the floor model in the store. The 30 day exchange window can't come soon enough.
Best sleep in a long, long time. Best purchase made in years
My wife and I were not getting a good nights sleep to save our lives. We decided on the King I Comfort Prodigy with the adjustable bed frame twin-extra long. We attached the two beds together to form the king size. I have to say that I have never slept better. I used to wake up 2-4 times a night with a back ache. I now sleep thru to 6 or 7 am without wakening. I feel much better. The only draw back are that we have to buy twin XL fitted sheets which are hard to find. Overall we love this bed..
I know, most people will think I work for Serta. I don't. We bought the Prodigy set from a local dealer after doing a lot of research. We narrowed it down to two name brands. We went with Serta because of the price and warranty. I strongly suggest if you're looking for a foam mattress, be sure to read the warranty's fine print on the maker's website. Serta has the best warranty compared to the other make we were looking at. When the mattress was delivered, I was worried about the smell. There was a very slight chemical smell and even that wasn't enough to make the bedroom smell. It never bothered us. The first couple of nights, we kind of tossed a bit. However, after 4 days or so we were sleeping very well. One of the things that worried me about any foam mattress was the heat retention. So far, I haven't been sleeping hot even though it was warm a couple of nights (Texas heat). I was having some lower back pain for a year or so. Our old mattress was only 7 years old, but we decided to get a new foam mattress hoping it would help my back. We've had the mattress for about three weeks and I have not had ANY back pain. Even after putting all the heavy Christmas decorations into the attic, my back felt fine. So, this tells me the old bed was the reason for my lower back pain. The foam mattress is helping my back as well. When you sleep on the mattress, you don't sink down like you would think. The foam kind of cuddles you a bit, but not to the point in making it hard to turnover (we're both side sleepers). I would say the bed is between a plush feel and a firm feel. It's a very comfortable bed and we are so glad we bought it.
Always a great night sleep for both of us. Highly recommend.
I read reviews for hours before deciding on this model, and my main concern was will I be hot? Will it have a bad odor? I am by nature a hot blooded person but so far so good, no issues with heat, at all. I did smell an odor once the plastic was removed for a few minutes and then never smelled it again. We have had the prodigy for 2 weeks now and my husband and I both really love it. I am actually sleeping all the way to my alarm going off, normally I wake up an hour or so before it goes off. I am getting a solid 8 hours of sleep and I can't imagine going back to an inner spring mattress.
We tried over 20 beds on the showroom floor and kept on returning to the Serta Icomfort Prodigy Plush.
I decided to switch from my water bed to a foam mattress thinking it would offer the same cushioning effect. I ordered the Prodigy, but an "insight" was delivered. After several nights I decided to search for the tag when I discovered it was the wrong mattress. The store promptly exchanged it for the correct product, but even this one feels too hard for a former water bed user - much harder than it felt in the store. I purchased the Serta over the Temperpedic because of the cooling gels. They do work. I do not become overheated while sleeping. The lower price was also a factor, but after giving it a try for 30 days, I think I will have to reconsider.
I purchased the iComfort Prodigy with Serta adjustable base 30 days ago. I was expecting a "breaking in" period or adjustment period before actually enjoying a good night's rest. I was wrong! I slept like a baby the first night....highly recommend the Prodigy if you prefer a firm but comfortable mattress. I am very pleased with the choice and after 1 year of shopping for mattresses...truly worth waiting for! One of the best purchases I have ever made! Love my adjustable base to help with reflux condition! Thank you iComfort!!
Had a serta perfect sleeper for 18 yrs & was very satisfied. Decided to get a new mattress & after looking for several months & trying out different sertas I narrowed down to the hybrid & the icomfort prodigy. I purchased the hybrid. After a couple of months I realized it wasn't very comfortable. Swapped it out for the icomfort prodigy. I was excited to get this even though it cost more. After a couple of weeks I was very disappointed that this mattress was not comfortable either. Someone described turning over like swimming up stream in sand. Perfect description! I bought the adjustable frame & there isn't any position I can find that is comfortable. I think the "memory" foam must mean it remembers your body impression. I've had this mattress for 4 months & it has already gotten soft & seems to sag. When just looking at it, it looks fine, but when you lie down you sag into your impression. You can't turn this mattress & it's not made to flip. I am SO disappointed with Serta. I loved my old mattress & really had no problems with it just thought it was time to upgrade. Sad to say "I hate this mattress". I now usually sleep on the couch or in the La-Z-Boy. If you're planning on getting an icomfort, really check it out and make sure that's what you want. I thought I did all the checking for 3-6 months & it didn't work out.
Went in to buy another pillow top ended up buying this matress, the best decision I have made. It truly changes the way I sleep, waking up feeling great makes me much more productive in the rest of my life. I would recommend this matress (and do all the time) to anyone looking to buy a new matress and the adjustable base was also a great purchase!!
We had a Serta Perfect Sleeper for 9 years and were always very happy with it so when the day came in November 2014 for us to purchase a new a mattress our first choice was naturally Serta. This was a $5000 investment so we wanted to be sure about our choice. After visiting several different stores and even looking at both Tempurpedic and Sleep Number beds, we chose a Serta iComfort mattress with adjustable base from Rooms to Go. We had to wait several weeks for delivery but were so excited for that first night's sleep when it was finally delivered. After the first night, my husband was very frustrated with our choice. He had a miserable night; however, I had researched everything so much that I realized it takes a while to adjust to a new type of mattress. It has now been over 4 months which is a more than adequate adjustment period and we are both very unhappy with our mattress. My husband's back hurts worse than ever. He complains daily about how irritating it is to spend that kind of money and be this miserable and wishes we had our old mattress back. Is there anything we can do other than sleep in our guest bedroom?
We shopped FOREVER for a mattress. We ended up with the Prodigy over the Savant because it was a bit softer and deeper. We also purchased the adjustable base which I HIGHLY recommend. Its so hard to get out of bed because of how comfortable the bed is! I get a solid nights sleep and barely feel movement from my husband. We've only had it a week but so far its been the best sleep Ive had in years!
My husband and I have had this mattress for about a year and a half. I gave it a two star because my husband likes the mattress but I don't. It started out firmer and I slept good for about 3 months but since then I wake up all the time achy (in which I come out of as I move around after getting up). The mattress itself is comfortable but the support I need is not there, especially in the hip area. When my husband gets out of bed in the morning, I move to the middle and that is firmer. Since the 120 days is past, I am now stuck with a mattress that I am still paying on and am not getting a good night sleep on. I now wish we would have gone with a sleep number since he likes softer and I like firmer.
The best mattress i've ever owned. Never slept so good in all my life!!!
I was inspired by poor sleep and neck pain to purchase a high quality mattress. I was concerned about the investment as a single person, but needed to take care of myself! I gave it my all during the 120-day trial period and thought it was simply okay. I shortly thereafter started to have some doubts and I was waking up during the night and waking up with a sore back. This lasted about 2 months. Instead of getting rid of the mattress, I lost 30 lbs and had a deviated septum surgery, allowing me to sleep at night while breathing through my nose. Think holistically, your mattress can only be as good as the body you put on it! I also switched to a thinner pillow and over time, I fell in love with the mattress. The foam does settle a little bit. Now I wouldn't trade this thing for anything but a bigger model! I look forward to sleeping at home after going on vacation. This mattress is better than even the JW Marriott beds. It sleeps cool, and you don't have to disturb your partner. The only downside is that it costs more than a traditional mattress. Which in reality has more than paid for itself in relieved pain.
We have been sleeping on our bed for a month now and I love it more each night. We went from a traditional Serta innerspring (10 years old) to a slice of heaven. It's firm enough (a real concern I had) and yet it's gentle. It is not like sleeping on hardness at all -- more like sleeping on gentle support without any fear of waking up stiff because it was too soft/sagged or soreness because it was too hard and created pressure points. Both of us get in bed each night and say, Well, aren't we smart? Getting this mattress? We splurged and added a Motion Custom adjustable base and we use the motion and the massage nightly. I even watch less TV because it's more fun to adjust the bed to the perfect incline to read and enjoy a 20 minute massage. Bliss. We went to icomfort stores and laid on the mattresses more than once to be sure we were getting something we would like. I really was worried about too soft, but the Prodigy Everfeel is truly our perfect fit. Thank you, Serta!
We have only had our mattress for a month but it is better than advertised. We wake up feeling renewed and refreshed. We were close to buying a Tempurpedic until the salesman showed us the Serta iComfort. Needless to say we are extremely happy he did. We would recommend this product to anyone looking for a new mattress.
My husband and I purchased this mattress about 3 months ago. We spent more time researching mattresses, going to mattress stores, laying on mattresses, etc. than we spent looking for our home. It was a bit like the story of the "Three Bears"... this one is too hard, this one is too soft. The Prodigy is just right. I am a therapist and hurt my back about 10 years ago. I have spent countless hours stretching, strengthening, seeing massage therapists, etc. trying to get some relief in my low back/hip area. My back pain COMPLETELY disappeared after 3 nights. I didn't realize how cranky I was until I didn't have it anymore. My husband has always been a poor sleeper waking up 2-3x per night (also waking me up ugh...). We spent $700 sending him to a "sleep specialist". We should have put that money towards this bed because he now sleeps all the way through the night. Things we love the best about this mattress: no sounds from springs moving, ability to lay on our backs without pillows if we want (almost like meditation), ability to get in/out of bed without being bounced around or disturbed, staying cool during hormonal flare-ups during "that time of the month", not rolling into one another (husband is about 40# heavier than me), no pressure points on my hips and back. I am searching for critical feedback but have very few negative things to say. There is an indention from where you sit, lay, sleep but it rebounds immediately with positional change. I don't notice it while I'm sleeping because I am sleeping soundly, but notice it when I'm sitting in bed reading. It is slightly more firm when cooler in the house, but this is negligible. We honestly couldn't be happier. I have told everyone we know how thrilled we are with our purchase. We're hoping this mattress is available in 25 years when the warranty expires so we can purchase another one!
Best money I have ever spent. No back or joint pain anymore. I wish I had done this sooner.
Our mattress was delivered just last night. Last night was the first night of sleeping on it, and I tossed and turned just like I did on our old mattress. Now I have heard from the sales man and from reading reviews that it takes time for your body to adjust to the mattress, but how long till you know if its the right mattress for you? We also got Icomfort Directions pillows and they seem to be really tall pillows and kink my neck. The initial feeling when lying down is the mattress is very plush and sink into it, but I just don't understand why I would toss and turn so much? I am hoping that after a couple more nights of sleeping on it, I will no longer toss and turn. Can anyone tell me why I would be tossing and turning so much on this mattress?
My first night on the mattress was amazing I could not believe I slept through the entire night. I have rheumatoid arthritis at the young age of 25 and this bed just by itself takes away so much of my pain. I have had the mattress for a week now and have so much more energy now during the day because I am able to sleep at night.
We love our mattress. It was the best purchase we've made in a long time. We both sleep much better than we have in many years.
I had gone through malls, bed stores, and online looking for a new bed as my fiancée did not like my water bed I had been sleeping on for decades. I really didn't want to give up my waterbed but decided if I did then I would get something awesome, something cool, and better features than my waterbed provided. After much research I decided I wanted memory foam with adjustable frame, but it had to be cool, as I never even installed my heater in my waterbed (but did have a wool mattress cover# After trying many memory foam mattresses I almost settled on a no name brand, even though I thought the icomfort was the most comfortable and coolest. When writing up the sale I saw the warranty was different for the adjustable frame and decided on the icomfort Prodigy instead for a little more, then I found I was able to get a simplier adjustable frame from the leader in memory foam mattresses for $500 less than the advanced serta one with built in massage, wireless remote, etc which didn't appeal to me. So in combination I paid about 3K and I'm completely satisfied and warrantied for decades which #who really wants the same bed for 20+ years anyway?) If I get 10 good years I will still be super happy, and so far after 4 months the icomfort prodigy has been the most comfortable bed I've ever owned and the adjustable factor with the tempor-pedic frame is a bonus. for whatever reasons I did not like the tempor-pedic or other no name mattresses better and at this point feel 100% happy with my choice and safe with the Serta name #in case anything does degrade). I've read some of the negative reviews and think most of them didn't get the right mattress for them or didn't give Serta a fair chance at correcting the issues. I don't expect to have any issues but from what I've seen Serta would most likely correct it if we did. I'm looking forward to enjoying this purchase for a long time.
I bought this bed about a year and half ago. Still love it. I usually prefer soft beds but this was a good compromise with my husband who opts for a harder bed. Its provides supports while still giving you that sleeping on pillow feeling. Absolutely love this bed.
We bought an I-Comfort Prodigy about 2 months ago to see if it would relieve my back pain. I've been a police officer for 22 years and the gunbelt has taken it's toll on my back. When I would get up out of bed I would have severe lower back pain that ran down the backs of my legs to the point it would take up to 5 minutes before I could take a step. After 2 months of sleeping on the Prodigy, I get up with NO back pain at all, I sleep all day long so I'm rested and ready to go for midnight shift. Thanks Serta!!!!!!
It took many many hours and two visits in our local appliance store to finally come to the conclusion that the Prodigy was best for us. Husband likes a cushy feel, I like a firmer feel. I was thinking more of my husband and some back injuries. When it came off the truck it was nearly frozen and felt like laying on a carpeted floor. Soon it warmed up. Not a problem. We bought it on the 20th of March. Now, only April 5th it is way way too soft. I feel like I am sleeping on a bed pillow and I do not prefer that feel. I also ached from such softness. I dread the summer heat as it is only going to get softer. We already went to our local dealer and he is not sure what to do (yet) because he has never had a return/exchange. I am NOT bashing him by no means as I know that he will take care of us. One thing that annoys me is the requirement for us to sleep on it the full 30 days. If I were waiting for our choice to "soften up" I could understand, but my choice is NOT going to get any "firmer" lol. I don't have qualms with the Prodigy as a whole, it is just not for me. I would recommend the product. I am anxiously awaiting my 30 days, which I disagree with, so I can exchange the Prodigy for the Genius.
A standard queen size mattress should be 60". My prodigy mattress is only 57". Very difficult to put a fitted sheet on this mattress. A queen size sheet is to big and wont stay on the mattress. A full size is to small. Very frustrating for the price I paid. I've seen many similar complaints on the serta website. Also have a sagging issue on the box spring.
We bought the Prodigy. I was a little apprehensive at spending so much money for a bed. I've had lower back pains from back packing when I was in my early 20's and haven't been able to sleep comfortably on my back. I've had this bed for 1 1/2 years and I can now sleep on my back and I don't have the backache like I used to. I also like the fact that the whole bed doesn't jiggle when my husband or I get up in the night. I wish I had had this bed years ago when I was having children. The cons about this bed is that I've been spoiled now and when I sleep somewhere else, I don't get a good nights sleep.
I do not awake anymore relaxed than I did with my old mattress after spending several thousand dollars. It feels like I am in a hole, having trouble turning during sleep and the mattress is hot.
My husband and I purchased this bed about 15 weeks ago from a Mattress Firm store. The prodigy is very comfortable, but when it "breaks in" it becomes very soft and does not provide adequate support for someone with back problems. I have never had back pain from sleeping on a bed until month 3 of sleeping on this bed. We went back to Mattress Firm and they would not let us exchange the bed for a more supportive model b/c it was (just past) the 90 day return policy. After having paid $3k for a mattress you would expect have a bed that did not induce back pad. Very disappointing.
This is our first memory foam mattress. It is soft and comfortable and feels great to lay on. Unfortunately we find ourselves too warm during the night, even in the winter when the room is only 64 degrees.
Hopefully I can help anyone deciding between a savant or the prodigy. I purchased the savant first and later exchanged it for the prodigy. Someone new to foam beds must understand these mattresses are much firmer until they break in. That being said, the only reason I exchanged mattresses is because I'm a side sleeper and the savant was not soft enough. I would wake up with stiffness in the shoulder I was lying on. I kept the mattress for almost 6 months and there was noticable improvement over time. From what I read in the Serta website, the savant is softer than the Protigy. I do not understand this because the prodigy has much more give. The store associate told me to walk on my savant to speed up the break in process. I utilized this same technique when the Protigy was new and almost think I made it too soft. This was disappointing at first, but I either got used to it or it firmed back up a little to my liking. I have never awoken with shoulder pain since I switched to the Protigy. The bed is very comfortable in just about any position. The only negative I have with the switch is the Protigy sleeps much hotter. With the Savant, I never understood why there were so many discussions about being hot. My opinion is the Protigy wraps around your body more and can cause sweating. As we move into the summer, I can't even sleep with a blanket. Despite pointing out the negatives, I am happy with this purchase. Since switching to the foam, I have never woke up with back pain. I purchased a new mattress in the first place as a result of back pain every morning. I would suggest finding a level of soft that works for you without going overboard. I feel the softer you go, the hotter it gets.
I had been vascillating for years on whether or not to buy a bed of this quality. We had always gotten the best available for the cheapest price and within a couple of years, were complaining on how we ached, felt old or all around sore. All that came to a gridning halt with the purchase of this mattress. I have read other reviews and now realize what everyone is talking about. Setup and delivery were a seamless event. The comfort of the bed is beyond the pale. 36 month interest free financing sealed the deal. If I had to categorize my review with one thought, it would be to tell everyone not to wait. You will NEVER regret your decision.
We purchased our Prodigy because we thought at the high price and high quality it would last us years to come. The first few weeks were bliss, our sleep had never been better. We soon started waking up with sore lower backs and the constant feeling of sleeping in a sinking hole. We decided that at this price we are just going to have to deal with it for awhile as over $2000 for a mattress and it lasted us less than a few months. We have turned the mattress every which way and it starts out great the first few nights but then the sinking hole begins to form and on comes the back pain. Really disappointed in the mattress and its lack of support, really wish we could return for a refund or a different mattress. We are both average sized people, under 180 lbs and in our 30's. On the plus side the shipping, although it took over a month, and delivery were wonderful!
I was surprised when the delivery man carried the inboxed mattress into our room. I've slept very well and comfortable for my first night.
I balked at the price at first, but I am glad I persevered with this bed rather than a discount memory foam product. I splurged by getting the motion foundation, si that the bed is a refuge for everything from TV watching to reading. But the best thing is the sleep! No morning backaches, no hot body parts as with other memory foams. This bed is the best furniture investment I ever made.
I have sat down to write this review several times, because I wanted it to be just right. I hope this reveals enough information to make others go out and buy one. I am 51 years old and had back surgery 6 years ago. After my surgery I had gotten use to waking up with back pains and thought it was normal. Once we got the iComfort home, sleeping has not been the same. We ABSOLUTE LOVE our bed. My husband who works in construction says "He may be trired from not enough rest, but his body never feels tired" Now he gets a good night sleep. We have the adjustable frame and oh Boy !!! it is GREAT. Well Worth the MONEY !!
I love this mattress!! I was having back pain and horrible hip pain. I could hardly move most days. Someone suggested it could be my mattress. I'm embarressed to say my mattress was 20 years old! What a difference! No more pain!! This is the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on! I researched mattresses for weeks before buying. I was afraid to buy a Tempurpedic because I heard they are hot and I am very hot natured and have night sweats. So after much research I decided to buy the Serta icomfort prodigy. It has changed my life! Soooo comfortable yet it's very supportive! I love It!!
you will not be disappointed purchasing this mAttress. very comfortable and you always stay cool.
Purchased on the hope that it would alleviate back discomfort and within one week positive results were achieved. BEST purchase ever!
I was searching for a bed that my wife (A medically retired Paramedic with severe back issues) and I (a paramedic/Firefighter with years of abuse on my body) could both be comfortable in. I shopped the air-bed stores; other types of memory foam and was astounded by the price and lack of features. This bed has a better warranty, is more comfortable, cooler and sleeps better than any other bed on the market hands down. The Bed and Adjustable Base was expensive but it was THOUSANDS of dollars less than the other guys!
When looking for a bed, I was looking for one I could elevate my legs with and maintain comfort, the Serta had all these qualities.
This mattress will feel a little firm when you first lay down on it but as you sink in slightly it is like getting a message relieving pressure points on your body. I have no trouble getting to sleep with this mattress. I have found out that a quilt or comforter makes me hot with this mattress so I only use a sheet and I am very comfortable with that. After using just the sheet have had no issues with being too hot through out the night. I have been sleeping for longer periods than before, waking up refreshed with not aches or pains. It only took a couple of nights on the mattress to get comfortable with it, as with not using the comforter after that it has been really pleasant
We overall wake-up feeling better, with little to no back pain. The bed is soft yet firm for both of us to enjoy. The mattress also keeps you slightly cool at night, which is nice in the summer.
I absolutely love my bed! Slept better than I ever had and the adjustable base and massagers are a must for me! I highly recommend the iComfort beds!
It was a tough decision on what bed to buy. Do I get a spring mattress or try a foam one? I was thinking about the "T" brand of foam mattresses but the prices were extremely high. Then I looked at the Serta iComfort line. I started with the lowest price model and moved up a few models. The Prodigy is still a little firm but not too firm. I don't completely sink into the bed and that's good for me because I tend to move around a lot. I purchased the adjustable base as well. Together they work great together. I'm not going to lie and say it is giving me the best sleep I've ever had. I am just a light sleeper and a bed isn't going to change that. But I do think the bed is comfortable.
Great bed, worth the money. Glad we got rid of our old bed and bought this bed. Very comfortable and supportive.
Great quality product, the cooling technology really works. But, please don't buy from a Sleep Experts store, it took them over 2 months to deliver, with 8 failed delivery attempts and over 19 hours of waiting home before I finally got what I ordered. Horrible customer service, they just don't care about their customers or try to resolve issues.
Love this bed. Not sure yet if it's worth the price tag but if I can get rid of the aches it will be.
This mattress is much cooler to sleep on than typical memory foam mattresses, although perhaps a little warmer still than conventional mattresses. It is soft, yet still offers good support. As a chiropractor, I would like to take a moment and offer some clarification on misunderstood ideas for mattress selection. Hard mattresses are not ideal for spinal health. Sagging is what is detrimental for spinal health, but a mattress that offers soft support to fill in the curves is ideal. This mattress does this very well. The improvements I would suggest are to make it subtly softer and cooler. If that was accomplished then this would have received more "Excellent" ratings above. After lying on numerous mattresses while making this selection, it was one of the top 2 mattresses I found for the money. Serta's loyalty program was then the final piece that sealed the deal.
I purchased this mattress about 9 months ago after laying in it for a few minutes in the showroom. I was really impressed at first. After sleeping in this bed for a little over a month you just sink into a hole that the "memory foam/gel" remembers and just goes deeper and deeper with every time you lay in it. Eventually you are laying in a crevice. I contacted the retailer I purchased my mattress from and they allowed me an exchange so I went with a firmer model (Genius) and ate the cost difference because my sleep was so terrible. I wish I could say that I woke up refreshed after sleeping in this mattress but I didn't after using it for a month. I wish I would have bought a different brand, either Tempurpedic or SleepNumber but now I'm stuck with an expensive mattress I absolutely hate sleeping in every night. I contacted Serta Customer Service to see if there was anything they could do to help keep me as a customer and they advised me unless it was a warranty issue they can't do anything. Since the mattress goes back up to it's normal state without sag after getting up it will not be a warranty issue.
I just recently purchase this mattress so I cannot give you recent review at this time. So far it seems comfortable, but I need to get used to the difference I had in my old mattress.
We purchased an I-comfort prodigy a little over a year ago. As many other reviews have said, it was a good mattress for the first 6 months or so and has since been getting progressively worse. I get up in the morning and sit on the side of the bed and feel like I am sitting on the platform. I wake up in a dip in the morning, it is difficult to roll over. The mattress is also NOT cool, it is quite the opposite in fact. When we first purchased the mattress, I couldn't tell if my husband was moving or still in bed even. Now, a little over a year since purchase and I can tell whenever he moves and especially when he gets out of bed. Frustrated with the purchase. That is a LOT of money to spend on a mattress to not have it last
I am concerned. Within one month my side has become much softer and comfortable but the other side is very firm which is causing a lump in the middle. I feel like I am in a hole. What will happen In one or two years? I went back to retailer who said I could exchange for another mattress which is cheaper but would still have to pay for more expensive mattress plus $100 restock fee plus delivery. What kind of comfort guarantee is that. I was never told this upfront and its giving serta a bad reputation. It is not 3/4 inch lower on my side so defect doesn't apply. Its a shame your retailers are not upfront.
I am really disappointed in this product. I have read so many great reviews, so I decided to jump in and spend the high dollar for this mattress. Not only does my back still hurt, but the so called cooling feature is not even noticeable. It looks pretty, but that just doesn't cut it for me. I'm out two grand, and I feel like I'm sleeping on the same old 25 year old mattress!! I only hope I can save the next guy a load of cash. Wish I would have gone with the other well known memory foam mattress! I thought it would be more comfortable, but it's hard and not cooling at all!
I work retail, on my feet all day and my old bed wasn't cutting it. I don't see where the bad reviews come from because this bed has most changed my life! It stays cool, I don't even realize my 130 pound dog is sleeping with me and it's just down right comfortable. Thanks serta!
After 13 years of marriage...my husband and I decided it was time to invest big in a new matterss...and we did exactly that, over $2,600! After having every intention on purchasing a Tempur-pedic...we were "sold" on the latest and greatest technology...the brand new Serta iComfort series. "This mattress will last you 20+ years" and "it'll be like a brand new bed every time you crawl into it" so we felt it would be worth the investment. The iComfort series also offered what seemed like a better quality bed for a few hundred dollars less than the Tempur-pedic. For the first 6 months or so, we were both pleased. Now, after owning for 21 months both of us HATE IT!!!!! It is "ok" #but not great# if there is only one person sleeping in it. If we are both in it, we roll to the middle...which was not supposed to happen! It takes an effort to roll up and over the edge to get out of it! We wake up in the mornings sore and aching, can't stand to be in it for more than 7 hours at a time. It has been such a disappointment. If we had a chance to purchase it again...I would cough up the extra couple of hundred and purchase the Tempur-pedic! But...we're stuck with this unComfort bed!
I've had mine(Prodigy) for just over three years now, And it looks brand new. I sleep well at night so does my wife I'm writing this review because a friend said they read bad reviews about them. So I read some objectively And I saw people complain about things that weren't mattress related, like "we roll to the center of the bed" well first off that sounds like a bed frame problem or you would both sink on your sides. others were this bed is to hard or soft, and how does that effect the quality. if you like firm buy a firm one and vice versa. I bought one that was soft and it feels great if you like firm buy the genius or the new Savant firm. I have even seen reviewers say theirs came rolled up, well then you didn't buy an iComfort they come flat in a huge box. last issue heat I have slept in a Tempurpedic and i own an iComfort yes it is cooler. That being said its not an air conditioner. if you have hot flashes the bed is going to cure them. its not going to magicaly save you money on A/c bills. Bottom line its a great bed, they give you 120days to make up your mind. buy it frrom a reputable dealer. not off ebay or one that fell off a truck.
We purchased the Serta Prodigy iComfort Oct. 2011, after the initial break-in period we really liked this bed until it developed a severe sag and now offers minimal support. The sag developed in less than two years of use, as a side note neither my wife or I are over weight (170#) so weight is not the cause. If you want a really expensive mattress that lasts about 20 months then this is the bed for you, otherwise go with a different brand. We'll see how the retailer/Serta handles this when we make a warranty claim.
our icomfort Revolution mattress is not yet 2 years old and i feel it deeply sagging on either side & lumping in the middle. if i want to hug my husband, i have to crawl a up a hill. has anyone had the same experience? I can't even find that model (Revolution) anymore in any store. were they recalled? I need mine recalled and refunded.
I recently woke up after my first night sleeping on our brand new Serta iComfort Prodigy mattress. It was delivered just yesterday. My previous mattress, a Serta Perfect Sleeper (Royale), is now leaning against a wall waiting for the donation truck to pick it up in a few days. I am truly sorry to write a one-star review on a company's official website, but I wanted to give others out there the heads up that this mattress is by no means "cool", as is so aggressively marketed. To the contrary, I woke up twice last night in a hot sweat. This has never ever happened to me before and I am having serious doubts as to whether this bed and I will be getting along. In promotional material, Serta continuously mentions the gel infused cooling memory foam, the cooling action, and the CoolReaction recovery. Really? I just don't feel it. Absolutely nothing cool or cooling about my Prodigy bed -- whatsoever. Serta: were you referring to the cool LOOKS of the bed? If so, I apologize in advance, but if you truly were trying to imply that the bed I just slept in has any temperature lowering benefits, I would like to set the record straight. It just doesn't. If anything, it is the total opposite. Serta: I know, I know, "try it for a few weeks". If I can, I will, but, in the meantime, I will be calling the charity to hold off on the donation of my old spring mattress. I may very well be switching back.
We went back and forth on the competitor mattress and then spotted this one - not only was it half the cost, but if focused on cooling which was important and is a known name. I can not remember the last time I was so rested in the morning.
I'll be brief and give the meat and potatoes I spent the last few months TRYING to find online until I bought the Prodigy two weeks ago while the box springs (AKA FOUNDATION) were "free" at most retailers... Store floor models are fairly well broken in... Ours was delivered and did feel much stiffer the first night. There is a "new car" type plasticky smell that is fading quickly, but is still there a week in now. I purchased the Serta StabL Base metal bed frame from Amazon, and I am pretty sure it is the most serious bed frame I have ever seen (and so far the QUIETEST). Highly reccomend that...The reason I mention the bed frame is because I found it hard to find out certain information regarding mattress types, frames, box springs vs foundations ect! Foam mattresses need either the box spring/foundation as support before they will work with your typical metal bed frame. Otherwise if you purchase JUST the mattress, a platform (flat surface) bed or heavily slatted frame is required. King sized mattresses (including Cal King) will get 2 box springs taking up the full length but half the width each....This is normal, and honestly, a good thing they were split otherwise we would have had this set taken back cause it would not have fit up the stairs! I am a very "HOT" sleeper, so I opted for the iComfort series because of the gel infused cooling compared to the TP....So far I am VERY happy with the temperature, but it is March....I am 6'3" and 250 pounds. I work out a lot so the pressure points on my old mattress were aweful. So far, I almost dont move at all yet on the Prodigy. Feels great so far. Highly reccomend if you can find at a good price or during a sale. If it's a little out of your price range, wait for the sale and save up, it's worth it!!! Hope this helps.
My wife and I purchased a new Serta Prodigy Mattress not quite a year ago. My wife loved it for the first 9 months, however I started having trouble almost immediatly The mattress has a latex layer in it underneah the top foam layer. That layer of latex seems to push back against my muscle structure resulting in pain on the fascia of my muscles of my back. My wife complains about waking up to be laying in a hole she has to climb out of with her back aching. I have sinece moved back to an innerspring mattress and we are struggleing on what to do with this one.
I HAVE BOTH THE SLEEP NUMBER AND !COMFORT BED. I AM AT THAT POINT IN MY LIFE OF HAVING HOT FLASHES. I SLEEP MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE ON THE !COMFORT BED. I FEEL RESTED AND REFRESHED IN THE MORNING. I DO NOT MOVE AS MUCH IN BED PER MY HUBBY. I CAN COOL OFF AFTER A HOT FLASH IN A WINK OF AN EYE.LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i bought this set for a bad back and have been very happy with the results. And my dogs all like the vibrating features.
We have had the prodigy for 3 weeks now. Takes time too get use to. I can tell a improvement In my back. Looking forward to more nights.
one night in this is one night in the paradise! with this you can say back pain bye bye
We are sleeping much better. No aches and pains when we get up. We have the adjustable and love that feature too.
My old serta I slept in a hole. With this one I sleep better, and feel more rested in the mornings and I stay cooler all night.
We went from a traditional mattress set to the iComfort Prodigy, not knowing what to expect. This is our first experience with a foam mattress and we were abit anxious about purchasing it. After meeting with the salesperson, who explained all the features and pros of owning this set, we tried lying on it several different times before finally buying it. Once it was delivered, we found after several nights of sleeping on it, our sleep was much deeper and neither of us felt any aches or pains when rising like we did with our old mattress. If you are seriously contemplating buying a reliable and really comfortable set, iComfort is definitely the way to go. I would recommend it to everyone.
This is a great matress. I bought it because of the memory foam and because of the reported gel cool feature. The problem is the sales guy said the warranty is not valid unless I get the protector pad. The protector pad diminishes the comfort an the heat disipation properties of the matress. I was very hot with the protector pad on the matress so now I have a $150 pad sitting in my closet. My recommendation is to not buy the protector pad. Also, we were given two memory foam pillows which don't work well because they are firm and cause my neck to be in an uncomfortable position due to my body sinking into the memory foam. The matress is great but the pillows and pad don't work with it.
This is my first Serta mattress and my first foam mattress. My back feels great every morning with this bed. The first couple of weeks, the surface felt a little hard, but once it broke in, it became very comfortable. This mattress feels very plush and you have that cushy feeling that helps you get to sleep, but at the same time, you have the support that keeps you asleep. I tried the Savant mattress first, but kept waking up with lower back pain, it may have been too soft, because that pain is non-existent with this mattress. The 120 day guarantee took care of that though, and I traded it right out.
My husband and I have different reviews. His review is very comfortable. I think the mattress is comfortable, but I feel as if I am rolling towards the middle of the mattress when I am laying on my side. If I am laying on the edge of the mattress, I have no problem.
This is a great bed and is very comfortable! My wife and I love this bed. We had debated between this bed and a similar tempurpedic, but decided on the prodigy and glad we did. We no longer wake up with back pain and we don't feel each others movements during the night. It is a little pricy, but we believe it is worth it. You want go wrong with this bed!!!
I fell in love the with this mattress the first time I lay on it because of it's comfort. My wife and I were having trouble with our old mattress because it's sinking in and we swore not to use spring mattress anymore. This mattress is cool and take your body posture. No more sleepless night and achy night.
I reviewed several mattresses and went to several stores before deciding on the Serta Icomfort Prodigy. This mattress seemed to be the best for the money.
When you need to spend at least 8 hours of everyday on a matress the Prodigy fits every expectation of comfort
So far after sleeping on the Prodigy for 5 weeks we really enjoy the mattress and we're sleeping thro
